Rosy & Callan’s Seaside Castle Wedding…
From childhood sweethearts to a beautiful wedding day filled with love, Rosy and Callan wanted a day that was all about family, friends and having fun.
After meeting in high-school and going on a few ‘dates’ (we think Callan was showing his romantic side early with a memorable date to see Shrek at the cinema!!) – the pair finally became an official ‘item’ back in 2015.
‘We did quite like each other at school,’ said Rosy, ‘But I went off to college to study nursing and Callan went over to Australia to play rugby league professionally so it seemed as though life was keeping us apart. Finally, when he came back from Oz, he asked me out on date again and the rest is history!’
When Callan whisked Rosy off for a romantic break in Edinburgh back in 2017 she thought he was behaving a bit ‘odd’. ‘It was absolutely boiling hot but Callan insisted on carrying his jacket everywhere with him whilst we did all the tourist stuff. We went to the zoo, the castle, all the usual stuff and he had his jacket firmly in his grip the whole time! I later discovered he had the ring with him all day but bottled out of popping the question as there were too many people around.’
‘Finally, once back at the hotel we were chilling out and he threw the ring box at me across the bed. I was so shocked! The ring was amazing and so I said ‘Are you asking me then’ and he mumbled ‘yeah’! Romance isn’t dead you know!’
“We looked at quite a few venues before we discovered Leasowe Castle but nowhere quite hit the mark,” said Rosy. “We really wanted somewhere we could kind of take-over and stay the night before and the night of the wedding. A friend of my Mum’s recommended Leasowe and we just fell in love with it. I love being by the sea so that swung it for me and Callan was really fascinated by the history. The team were so lovely and welcoming too so we knew it was the place for us.”
“We wanted a romantic day that was filled with glamorous touches. We kept the décor fairly simple but really chic and the whole thing worked beautifully.
“The main thing for us though was to make sure our family didn’t have to lift a finger and the team at Leasowe really helped us achieve that. Nothing was too much trouble and all of our guests were treated like royalty!”
The couple and their guests were treated to a traditional wedding breakfast which included delicious pulled-pork bon bons for starters followed by roast chicken dinner, topped off with an indulgent chocolate brownie dessert. “Everything was perfect,” said Rosy. “The wine flowed and the food was just delicious. It was everything we could have hoped for.”
‘I searched high and low to find the perfect dress,’ said Rosy. ‘I eventually found the perfect gown at Forever Bridal. I wanted something really wow, so all the embellishments and gorgeous shoulder detail combined with the train and veil was just the look I was going for. The girls at Always and Forever Bridal were amazing and really understood my vision. I can’t recommend them enough.’
My beautiful bridesmaids wore stunning champagne coloured gowns from For Her & For Him. I was thrilled to have my sister Katy Sullivan by my side as my Maid Of Honour along with my two friends Katy Lindberg and Joanne Gaskell. They really did me proud!
Callan and the boys looked super-stylish in their unusual deep burgundy suits from Slaters in Liverpool. Callan topped off his look with a quirky champagne coloured bow tie whilst the rest of the crew sported dapper burgundy versions to compliment the suits.
‘We were so so lucky with our suppliers,’ said Rosy. ‘Each and every one of them was amazing from our stunning flowers from the super-talented Michelle Anne Floristry, to our gorgeous cake from Cakes By Kerry we couldn’t have asked for more!’
‘We have to say a special thank-you to our incredible photographers Bill from Nessworthy Photography and his partner Sammy from Popsicle Photography. They literally captured every aspect of the day so perfectly. They even stayed late to photograph our first dance as everything was running behind due to the weather. They made the experience so much fun and we think the pictures speak for themselves.’
Guests were treated to an incredible acoustic set from Jonny O’Donnell during the wedding breakfast then proceedings turned up a gear as day turned into night and the whole crew got ready to party.
‘The evening party was incredible,’ said Rosy. ‘We had an amazing band called Friends of The Bride who got the whole room up on their feet and the dancing just went on all night. Leasowe Castle’s resident DJ played well into the early hours and everyone ate, drank and partied like never before.’
‘We wanted our big day to be emotional, memorable and magical and it was all of those things and more. Just perfect.’
